Seminole Theater Opening Night

The City of Homestead is holding a very exciting and educational interactive celebration of all things arts, theater and culture during the Grand Opening of the Seminole Theatre onSaturday, December 12 at 6:00 pm at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Avenue.

The free event will include the live simulcast projection of “A Night on Broadway,” the first performance that will take place inside the newly renovated Seminole Theatre.  The show will include a number of Broadway’s musical hits performed by professional singers and musicians straight from Broadway and other national companies.

We are looking to work with our local schools, community organizations and non-profits to make sure that our students are exposed to this wonderful opportunity. During the free cultural fair in the park, from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, students will get to learn and interact with spoken word performer, participate in a community art project, learn about improv and theatre as well as enjoy performances from musicians, acrobats and fire dancers. The live projection of “A Night on Broadway” starts at 7:30 pm.

Most importantly, we have arranged for the performers to have an educational Question & Answer sessions inside the theater with the students after the show (approximately 8:30 or 9:00 pm) where they can learn what it takes to have a career in theater and the arts, and get inspired.

We would like if you could encourage students to reserve free tickets for the Q & A and attend the arts and culture fair. Attached is the flyer with the information on the event. Here is the EventBrite link that is only being distributed to our schools, where students can download their Performers Q&A ticket for free which will allow them to participate in this educational portion of the event that takes place inside the theater: http://seminoletheatreqa.eventbrite.com<http://seminoletheatreqa.eventbrite.com/> There is only a number of free Q&A tickets available, they will be on a first come first served basis.

The Arts and Culture fair and projection of the performance “A Night on Broadway” outside the theater in Losner Park is FREE. The educational Q & A with performers is also FREE but students must RSVP on the provided URL.
